It's True! It's Damn True!
You are buying a BRAND NEW, UNREAD wrestling book, Kurt Angle: It's True, It's
True.
The autobiography of former Greco Roman Olympic medallist turned World Wrestling
Federation (World Wrestling Entertainment) and NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) and TNA
(Total Nonstop Action) Champion.
An outstanding read. Despite the brief time Kurt Angle spent in the WWF (WWE) at the time
this book was published, Angle is able to tell a very interesting tale of not only his time
in the only sports-entertainment company in the world today, but of his early youth, large
family, and of course, his time in the Olympics.
Most of the book is focused on Angle's early life pre-WWF(E), which is as it should be,
since at the time, Angle was only with the company for about a year, and to try to push off a
book about his career in sports-entertainment with such a short amount of time in would not
be productive, and come off as filler.
Angle comes off as an extremely hardworking guy, as humble as his character is portrayed
(as a wrestling "good guy"). This is a man who has been through the adversity of the death
of his father, the murder of his Olympic wrestling coach, the Olympic trials, the Olympics
itself, a loss of hearing in one ear, and a broken neck.
The training angle goes through to compete is gruelling to say the least. To read of the
training he does makes the reader think twice about the sometimes goofy character Angle
played on TV, realizing that Angle is one VERY tough individual.
Competing in the Olympics with a broken neck is dangerous, but Angle pulls it off,
although he still has neck problems to this day. He also has to deal with the murder of his
coach by the eccentric millionaire John DuPont, losing another person who is close to him,
having had to deal with the death of his father.
His career in sports-entertainment is equally colourful, with Angle's recollections of how
his character was to be portrayed, and how his hearing loss affected those around him. All
in all, a very quick reading and entertaining book.
Book is in overall good condition, but may have shelfwear in the dustjacket.
